1. It just isn’t.

I am yet to understand why religious people keep telling Athiests that they’ll go to hell, and some how thinking it is a legitimate insult. What do they expect to get out of that? It means absolutely nothing. It is ludacris, it is funny. How is an Athiest supposed to care about going to this fantastical place when they don’t have any concept of it. It is like telling a black man that he has white skin. He doesn’t, it is false. It isn’t worth considering or inspecting. It is obvious. It is idiotic.

I am also yet to understand why some people believe that gathering more scientific evidence, not that it is needed, is going to some how dissolve people’s religious ideals. When it comes to these people, they are completely closed minded. Which makes the common remark that Athiests are closed minded completely hypocritical (surprising). You could shove the fucking skeleton of a Homo floresiensis (a stage in the human evolution, nicknamed ‘hobbit’) in some devoutly religious persons face and they would completely disregard it. They are impossible to argue with, they have no concept of logic.

I believe that all religious people doubt their beliefs deep down, even if it is subconsciously, and this is why they get so infuriated and defensive at the thought of someone even starting to question their belief. I question my beliefs every single day. I am open to new evidence, to new theories. I thrive off it. I think deeply about it. Most religious people believe the things they do because someone they trust told them that it was true. It is like when an abusive parent constantly tells their child, from birth, that they are ugly or dumb, or special of superior, they believe it. These are the people that have given life to them, fed them when they were hungry, nurtured (you’d hope), why would you not out your trust in them? You love them. You do not question what these trustworthy people have told you, that is wrong and offensive to them.

You are taught not to question or think for yourself. How utterly horrible.

  2. … and they mustn’t tell me who I’m allowed to go to bed with and who I’m not allowed to go to bed with. It’s not acceptable. Anyone who tells me what happens to me after i’m dead is either a liar or a fool because they don’t know!
